RCSA and the DIGITAL TWIN

Receptance Coupling Substructure Analysis (RCSA), developed by Dr. Tony Schmitz of the University of Tennessee and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, enables us to create a "digital twin" of your CNC Machining Center from a 5-minute tap test of an artifact. That is combined with public data of your machine's maximum RPM, feed rates, drawbar force, torque and power curves. That digital twin can be used with toolholder and cutter models to virtually predict optimum stable speeds, feeds and depths of cut. If you would like your machines added to the Machine Tool Genome Project registry, please fill out this form.
