This is not going to be my last post on the gold trend this season, mainly because I hope it never gets old, but also due to its versatility and fluidity.? A metallic neutral, gold is serving up some major sartorial fodder for us, and I am overusing and abusing this one.? Gucci’s 70′s inspired Spring 2016 collection has provided more than enough encouragement and influence, and I’m blaming it all on the fashion house’s gold mules and pleated skirts, along with their colorful lurex knits.? It doesn’t hurt that almost every piece is modest for the tznius clad.? Love it or not, you can’t deny that gold is the new black .
(I love it.)

I started my outfit with a salmon bodysuit from Reformation, and built up from there. The jacket lent a beautiful contrast of a? cool dusty blue alongside the warmer tones of the skirt and top.? The comfort of a bodysuit is that you never have to adjust it and retuck; it stays in place all day.? It’s a brilliant foundation piece for your wardrobe but might be skintight, so topping it off with a jacket is a great way to keep it modest.
This morning I was in the mood for a dark lip and bang collaboration and I needed my outfit to express the same moody sentiments.? This weather is cold but it brings with it the sartorial advantage of wearing whatever you feel like.? Bohemian to classic, vintage to avant-garde, everything makes the cut.? Because that’s the kind of season Fall is; fashion freedom with no rules.
I took a page out of my style hero Christine Centenera’s book and went for leggings under a skirt and tossed a blazer on top.? Wearing pants or leggings under a skirt gives me an alternative to the traditional black tights I wear ad nauseum this time of the year.
**This is a judgement-free blog.? There are many different opinions pertaining to the wearing of pants or leggings under a dress or skirt.? Consult with your rabbi on what is best for you. ?

I am only blogging about this today, but this vintage sweater duster coat saved me last winter during my pregnancy.? I wore it to Fashion Week, to pick the kids up from school, grocery store errands.? Everywhere.? I fell in fashion love.? It was everything I wanted in cold-weather wear, and coincidentally, everything I needed.? It kept me so warm but gave me that shot of sartorial satisfaction we sometimes lose out on during the winter months.? I continue to hunt down similar pieces in the hopes that i can carry on donning these winter wonders, and keep my seasonal depression at bay.? I have been using Etsy as a main source for sweater coats (and many other pieces) as I posted in the past, which you can try along with the traditional brick and mortar vintage shops.
Just a few outfits I wore over this month during the holidays, and I’m grateful for the weather we’ve been having which has been facilitating the lack of outerwear (trench coat in the rainstorm aside).
